New MDF or solid wood doors and drawer fronts, sprayed in our shop with Renner or Envirolak. Matching face-frame skin. Soft-close hinges. Hardware upgrade. The look of a brand new kitchen — without the demolition.
Cabinet refacing in North Bay typically costs $4,800 to $14,500 — roughly 50–60% of a full kitchen replacement and a fraction of the time. North Bay Painting Services keeps your existing cabinet boxes in place, replaces the doors and drawer fronts with new MDF or solid wood (built and sprayed in our shop with Renner or Envirolak), wraps the visible face frames and end panels in matching veneer or rigid skin, upgrades hinges to soft-close, and refits hardware. Available across a 45-mile radius from North Bay, including Callander, Corbeil, Sturgeon Falls, Powassan, and Mattawa. Every refacing project is fully bonded, insured, and WSIB covered, and backed by a 1-year written warranty. Owned and operated by Ahmed Khalil, owner and lead painter.
Refacing is the kitchen-renovation tier — the whole front of your kitchen gets replaced. We don't cut corners on the parts you actually see.
Every door opening, drawer front, and visible end panel measured to 1/16". Layout diagram and door style review.
Shaker, slab, raised panel, or recessed. Renner conversion varnish or Envirolak water-based topcoat in your colour.
MDF or solid wood doors and drawer fronts CNC-cut, sanded, and prepped to match your opening dimensions exactly.
Doors sprayed with Renner or Envirolak in our shop spray booth. Hardener-additive system — same as kitchen factories.
Existing doors, drawer fronts, hinges, and hardware removed. Boxes stay in place. No demo. No plumbing. No electrical.
Visible box ends and face frames wrapped in matching veneer or rigid thermofoil skin so the whole front reads as one finish.
New soft-close hinges installed on every door. Pulls and knobs of your choice fitted, drilled, and aligned.
Doors, finish, skin, hinges — covered for 12 months. Anything fails under normal use, we come back and fix it.
Refacing is the right tier when the boxes are sound but the front of the kitchen is dated, mismatched, or just tired.
1990s oak cabinets where the boxes are still rock-solid but the raised-panel doors look stuck in time.
Homeowners who want a brand new kitchen face but don't want to live without a kitchen for two months.
Rental and flip kitchens where refacing delivers a brand-new look at half the price of a tear-out renovation.
Condo kitchens where you can't move plumbing or change the footprint — refacing is the only renovation-grade option.
Boxes that paint can't bond to long-term. Refacing wraps a fresh skin over the laminate so the substrate is irrelevant.
Kitchens where additions or repairs left you with three different door styles. Refacing makes everything uniform.
New shaker doors on uppers in white, slab doors on lowers in navy. Two door styles, two finishes, one project.
Lake Nipissing, Trout Lake, Mattawa River cottages — refacing is faster than ordering custom replacement cabinets.
Every estimate is free and on-site. We measure every opening, count every drawer, and walk you through door style and hardware options before quoting.
Ranges reflect 2026 North Bay market pricing for full refacing with new MDF or solid wood doors, face-frame skin, soft-close hinges, and Renner or Envirolak shop-sprayed finish. Solid wood doors, complex profiles, and high-end hardware sit at the upper end. Refacing typically lands at 50–60% of a full kitchen replacement.

Existing doors, drawers, hinges, hardware removed on-site. Boxes stay in place.

The new doors get sprayed in our shop with the same factory-grade coating systems used in high-end kitchen factories. Retail-grade paint can't survive a kitchen long-term — we use industrial.
Renner is an industrial cabinet coating system used in high-end kitchen factories worldwide. The conversion varnish uses a hardener catalyst that cross-links the topcoat into a finish nearly as hard as a factory-finished door. We spray the new MDF or solid wood doors with Renner in our shop booth, which delivers a factory-flat finish on the very first piece you see when you walk into your kitchen.
Envirolak is a Canadian-made water-based conversion coating with hardener — a furniture-grade alternative to solvent-based lacquer. Low odour, fast cure, and an excellent match for the face-frame skin and visible end panels we apply on-site since you can stay in the home while it cures. We use Envirolak on both the new shop-sprayed doors and on-site touch-ins so the entire kitchen reads as one continuous finish.

A selection of what North Bay homeowners have said about our cabinet work.
Refaced our 1990s oak kitchen — 24 doors swapped for white shaker MDF, sprayed with Renner. The new face-frame skin made the box ends disappear. Looks like a $50K renovation. Total cost was $11,800 and we kept using the kitchen the whole time.
Condo kitchen — couldn't move plumbing or layout. Ahmed's team replaced every door with slab navy MDF, wrapped the box ends in matching skin, and installed soft-close hinges. Twelve days, no demo, no dust storm. Envirolak finish is bulletproof.
Flip property — old laminate kitchen with three different door styles from past repairs. Refacing made the whole kitchen uniform with two-tone shaker doors and new pulls. Sold $18K over asking. The Renner finish was a selling feature.
